Bourne Denby Coffee Pot & Milk Jug Set - Homestead Brown Glaze, England c.1960

A handsome and practical pair from Bourne Denby — one of Britain's most respected and long-running stoneware potteries, producing from their Derbyshire works since 1809. This set comprises a tall 2-pint coffee pot with its original ball-knop lid and a small milk jug, both finished in Denby's warm Homestead Brown glaze — a deep, rich chocolate brown on the exterior with a contrasting cream glaze to the interior.

The forms are clean and unfussy — cylindrical with simple loop handles and a quiet confidence that has kept Denby pieces in production and in demand for decades. The diamond Bourne Denby stamp to the base of both pieces, along with the impressed 2PT capacity mark, dates this set to the 1960s–70s. Fully functional and equally good as a display piece.

Coffee pot: Small section of chipping to the foot rim, exposing the raw stoneware beneath — clearly shown in the photographs and reflected in the price. No damage to the upper body, spout, handle or lid. Glaze in excellent condition throughout. Original ball-knop lid present and fits well.

Milk jug: Excellent vintage condition. No chips or cracks. Glaze clean and bright throughout. Cream interior glaze unmarked.
